Rather than writing my story out in all of it’s glory I’ll just do it in point form to keep it simple

Jan 2006 – Surgery to remove tumour in colon
Jan 2006 – leak at surgery site
Jan 2006 – surgery site opened to drain
Jan 2006 – Colostomy bag installed to allow surger site to heal from within
June 2006 – Colostomy reversed
June 2006 – Surger site leaks again
June 2006 – Second colon rescection
August 2006 – Four tumours discovered on liver, one considered inoperable
Sept – Dec 2006 – Chemotherapy special study
Dec 2006 – Liver surgery to remove three tumours and ablasion on inoperable tumour to hopefully kill it.
Feb – May 2007 – Chemotherapy
March 2007 – Developed hernias related to multiple surgeries
Sept 2007 – Hernia surgery
October 2007 – Cancer back
October 2007 – Developed another hernia ( very large)
October 2007 – May 2008 – Chemotherapy with Avastin
March 2008 – Embolization of liver where tumour situated
July 2008 – Liver surgery again to remove supposably inoperable tumour – Success – and now cancer free. I still have the very large hernia but if I can stay cancer free for a year or so we will go back in and fix it as well.

Wow, I just read your blog (first cancer blog I have ever read, I was diagnosed with ethesioneuroblastoma in May) and just reading those lines, all that you went through to get where you are today, it has given me some courage. I am haven’t yet started radiation, but have been hospiatlized 8 times in one year, before they found the cancer, and have had two resections since. I am mainly frustrated with my loss of energy. Did you find that to trouble you too? I am going to read some more of your earlier postings. Thank You!

Hi Emmett, Welcome to the family.
Hope to hear more about what is going on in your life.

But for now
Hug to you and yours,
Sherri
